During the UCLG World Summit of Local and Regional Leaders held in Bogota in October 2016, UCLG and UN Habitat renewed the long existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance the role of local and regional governments in the UN agency's future programmes.
This MoU aims to provide a framework of cooperation within which UN-Habitat and UCLG shall collaborate in areas of common interest, in particular local implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, public space and the New Urban Agenda.
