In the aftermath of the terrible earthquake that hit Nepal on Saturday 25 April, UCLG and its members around the world would like to express our solidarity and support to the people and local authorities of Nepal.
At this difficult moment, all members of the UCLG network stand by the people of Nepal. We hope that the country recovers as quickly as possible from the consequences of the disaster and that normal life for citizens can be re-established in the affected zones.
UCLG is in contact with its members in Nepal: the National Association of Village Development Committees in Nepal (NAVIN), the Municipalities Association of Nepal and the Association of District Development Committees of Nepal (ADDCN), and will keep track of any requests for specific support.
