Much to the disappointment of everybody it is now almost certain that no legally binding agreement will be signed in December. The outcome from Copenhagen will most likely be a political declaration setting up a framework to be developed next year. Members of UCLG are called to mobilise : we want Copenhagen to reach an agreement !
In view of the disappointing results anticipated in the UN Summit on Climate Change, UCLG invites its members to campaign during the first week of December.
Local and Regional Governments are asked to hang a banner from public buildings calling upon governments to seal the deal in Copenhagen. A model for the banner can be downloaded below.
