Between the 13th and the 15th of March 2019, the Global Policy Forum of Development by the European Commission was held in Brussels. This year’s meeting was looking as a milestone one: many new partners from Civil Society have joined the Frame Partnership Agreement, and the dynamic has raised a new level in the Dialogue between the EU and its partners. Reducing disaster risks, a shared responsibility

On the occasion of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction organized by UNISDR from 13 to 17 May 2019 in Geneva, UCLG in partnership with the City of Geneva, UN Habitat and UNISDR, will organize a day of consultation meeting and exchanges between elected representatives and risk reduction professionals.  (+)
Mediterranean local representatives reflect on data processing in urban migration management

On 19 and 20 March, the eighth peer-learning event of the Mediterranean City-to-City Migration (MC2CM) project brought together more than 50 local representatives and experts of Mediterranean cities in Amman (Jordan) to exchange experiences on the collection and processing of migration-related data. In order to promote inclusion and social cohesion in their cities, participants shared practices and visions on the importance of developing evidence-based migration policies against harmful stereotypes and narratives. UCLG Culture Summit and Executive Bureau: Cities lead cultural actions in sustainable development
After the success of the first two UCLG Culture Summits (Bilbao, 2015; and Jeju, 2017), culture makes a comeback to the centre of the political agenda with the third edition of the Culture Summit from 3 to 5 April in Buenos Aires.  (+)

UCLG expresses its condolences to the people of Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Malawi

Following the devastating Cyclone Ida which triggered a massive disaster in southern Africa and affecting hundreds of thousands of people and caused massive damage to infrastructure, including to roads, schools and government offices as well as thousands of homes, UCLG and its members around the world would like to express their solidarity with the people of Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Malawi.
