The 2019 ECOSOC Forum on Financing for Development follow-up (FfD Forum) will be held on 15-18 April 2019 at UN Headquarters in New York.
This global coalition, led by United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG), believes that the challenge of municipal finance is fundamental to the SDGs (and indeed to our survival on the planet). The coalition will promote 4 or 5 global policy goals necessary to unlock finance for cities.
This 1st edition of the Venice City Solutions, co-organized by UN-Habitat, UNCDF, UNDP and UCLG, is an opportunity to explore how to make SDGs a reality for all from the local level.
Several priorities work streams have been identified and these are the following:
1. The mapping of initiatives, mechanisms and tools developed within UCLG in support of the localizing of financing, in order to build on the experience and set priorities for future action.
