This meeting will consist of a meeting between all stakeholders to take stock of the financial situation of local and regional governments, the impact of the pandemic on the local fiscal space and the solutions put in place, one year after its outbreak;
The study is part of UCLG and PLATFORMA’s activities to improve knowledge on decentralised development cooperation and aims at informing their advocacy work towards European financial institutions.
It offers an open-access database from which first-hand information on local government finances can be extracted and compared between countries.
The OECD and UCLG will co-host the First International Conference of the World Observatory on Subnational Government Finance and Investment, on 17 June 2019 at the OECD Headquarters in Paris.
The World Observatory on Subnational Government Finance and Investment is a global platform for collecting and analysing subnational finance and investment, territorial organization and multi-level governance in 120+ countries.
A call for expressions of interest was launched at the end of December 2018 to identify a Fund Manager. Final selection is expected by spring 2019.
UN-Habitat, UNCDF, UNDP, and UCLG, co-organised the Venice City Solutions 2030-Financing the SDGs at the local level. The Italian Association for the Council of European Municipalities (AICCRE) hosted the event which received financial support of Platforma and the United Nations
This 1st edition of the Venice City Solutions, co-organized by UN-Habitat, UNCDF, UNDP and UCLG, is an opportunity to explore how to make SDGs a reality for all from the local level.
