UCLG and its Committee on Culture are fully engaged in the pursuit of sustainable cultural development at local, national and global levels.
The Culture Summit aims at ensuring that culture is adequately reflected in the overall policy of the World Organization and that the cultural policies of UCLG members are promoted and enhanced with the shared values of the Agenda 21 for Culture.
During the last World Council meeting in Haikou, UCLG members highlighted that culture is key for social and economic development, as well as for human-scale cities.
During the process of updating the Agenda 21 for culture, the United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) Committee on Culture launched an online consultation questionnaire in March 2014.
