Bureau Ejecutivo de CGLU en Liverpool
Ciudades y Gobiernos Locales Unidos celebrará su Primer Bureau Ejecutivo del 2014, a invitración del Alcalde de Liverpool, M. Joe Anderson, en el marco del Festival Internacional de Negocios (IFB según el acrónimo en inglés) organizado en el mes de julio. Esta Bureau Ejecutivo coincidirá con la Cumbre de Líderes Municipales organizados por Liverpool.
The Global Agenda of Local and Regional Governments for the 21st Century
UCLG has produced a tool for local and regional governments to contribute to the post-2015 Agenda and the New Urban Agenda of Habitat III in 2016. This tool is designed to initiate a dialogue among sub-national governments and their partners around the new Urban Agenda, which should lead towards an advocacy strategy.

Cities Alliance abre periodo de candidaturas para el Fondo Catalizador 2014
La Alianza de Ciudades (Cities Alliance) ha lanzado una convocatoria para entrega de propuestas para la edición 2014 del fondo catalizador (CATFUND). El fondo catalizador es un instrumento de financiamiento de la Alianza de las Ciudades, a través del cual se brindan donaciones para proyectos innovadores con los que se consolida y promueve la función de las ciudades en la reducción de la pobreza y el desarrollo urbano sostenible.

XI Congreso Mundial de Metropolis
Se prevé la asistencia al XI Congreso Mundial de Metropolis en Hyderabad de más de dos mil delegados procedentes de más de un centenar de ciudades de todo el mundo, así como de cargos públicos y electos de más de cien ciudades de primer y segundo nivel (las que tienen mayor número de habitantes) de India.

Assoc. Prof. Nail YILMAZ, lecturer at Marmara University, delivered a talk on “ Social Structure, Municipalities and the Urban Transformation”, at the UCLG-MEWA Headquarters in Sultanahmet, Istanbul on 21 May 2014. In his conference YILMAZ expressed that the urban transformation has become an essentiality in Turkey.
CEMR calls on Europe's local and regional government to help their Serbian and Bosnian counterparts affected by the recent floods. This call comes in response to an urgent appeal from two of our member association, namely the SKGO and the SOGFBIH, asking for mobilisation of all their sister organisations throughout Europe, and their member municipalities.

Re-imaginar espacios públicos
El Municipio de eThekwini, a través de su proyecto “Imaginar Durban” y el Instituto Municipal de Aprendizaje (MILE) así como el Departamento Provincial de Gobernanza Cooperativa Provincial y Asuntos tradicionales de KwaZulu-Nata (COGTA) se han asociado con la Comisión CGLU de Planificación Estratégica Urbana y CGLU-África para acoger un intercambio de aprendizaje "Crear y mantener espacios públicos vibrantes y humanos", que tendrá lugar el 4-6 junio de 2014 en Durban, Sudáfrica.

El programa de Ciudades piloto, que se desarrollará entre el 1 de abril y el 31 diciembre de 2014, forma parte del proceso de elaboración de la nueva Agenda 21 de la cultura. El proceso fue iniciado por la Comisión de Cultura de CGLU en 2013 en Lille-Métropole, Buenos Aires y Rabat, y continúa en el curso de 2014.
