UCLG and our members around the world express our solidarity and support to the people and the local and regional authorities in Colombia and Peru that are facing the terrible consequences of heavy rains, landslides and floods that are affecting the Andean region.
These floods have left thousands of people without shelter, food or support. Mayors from Peru and Colombia bear the heavy burden of responding to this emergency. In this particularly difficult context it is important to show solidarity with the citizens and the local authorities directly affected by this disaster.
We are awaiting requests for support and call on our members to show solidarity with the affected areas.
